e Butter Social Club is a bakery and coffee shop located in the old city of Al Khobar. A long span of silver curtain is placed alongside the counter to mimic a theatrical atmosphere, where the counter takes the role of the stage, and where the coffee making and baking in the kitchen beyond, are the main act. A large plywood table, where customers can gather around, alone or in groups, is placed in the centre of the space. The table is inspired by the Japanese Kintsugivases, and can be split into several pieces for ease of transportation and production.
